The Choir Program NEEDS You!
The Choir Program can not function efficiently without the support of the parents. Parents are asked to volunteer at least 4 hours a year for a variety of duties including selling/taking tickets at concerts, chaperoning, and for attire fittings/attire turn in days. In addition to volunteering, parents will periodically be asked to supply food, treats and drink for retreats, dinners prior to concerts and receptions after concerts. Kilbourne Singer parents will have numerous specific requests in addition to the regular choir volunteer requests.
We also need parents to take on the following duties. These positions were developed to maximize the benefit to the program but minimize the time commitment to the volunteers.
And of course, Choir Boosters can not run without a few extremely dedicated parents to be members of the Choir Booster Board. These positions include:

- Concert/Volunteer Coordinator – using Signup Genius to get volunteers for each concert; works with reception coordinator, cabaret coordinator, concert night food coordinator, fundraising coordinators, and Kilbourne Singers Volunteer Coordinator to get volunteers as needed using Signup Genius.
- Public Relations – submits press releases to local paper about upcoming events, or state contest rankings or other newsworthy choir things
- Attire Coordinator –handles attire distribution and collection; attire fittings; works with seamstress; orders attire from Southeastern Apparel.
- Kilbourne Singers Volunteer Coordinator – finding chaperones and volunteers for Kilbourne Singer only events (retreats, church performances, trips)
- Fundraising Coordinator(s) - for Holiday Caroling, Car Washes, Cabaret Ticket Sales, Donations at Concerts, and any other ideas from our community
- Cabaret Coordinator – coordinates the Coffee House Cabaret each May; works with Decorations Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator and Reception and Food Coordinators as needed.
- Decorating Coordinator – works with Ms. Lewis to decorate for Home for the Holidays; works with Cabaret Coordinator to decorate for Coffee House Cabaret.
- Food Coordinator – organizing food for dinners prior to concerts – works with Volunteer Coordinator to get Signup Genius sent out.
- Concert Program Designer - organizes and designs each concert program with songs/composers, program notes, choir rosters, bios, upcoming events and other important information
And of course, Choir Boosters can not run without a few extremely dedicated parents to be members of the Choir Booster Board. These positions include:
- President – works with choir director and choir board to distinguish choir monetary and other needs for each year, distributes information to appropriate committees, works with Columbus Foundation on scholarship applications,
- Vice-President – handles paperwork collection and works with record keeper and fundraising coordinators; Oversees sponsorship program.
- Treasurer – provides monthly reports to board, writes checks, makes bank deposits and operates Square at concerts; files necessary paperwork to Ohio and IRS; works with concert coordinator and cabaret coordinator to arrange for money as need.
- Secretary – takes minutes at each board or booster meeting and distributes to attendees.
